ROBERSON, JOHN LINTON ("ROBO")

1943-1986. Class of 1966. Lieutenant Roberson commanded a company in the Delta during the Vietnam War, in Colonel David Hackworth's Battalion, 9th Division, U.S. Army. In the midst of a firefight on March 11, 1969, his company took casualties, but he refused evacuation, and stayed with his company throughout the operation, earning Col. Hackworth's praise.
