KINARD, JAMES P.

July 17,1864-June 1951. Citadel Class of 1886. James Pinckney Kinard was born in Kinard, S.C. He joined Winthrop faculty in 1895 as a professor of English and History after receiving a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University that same year. From 1913 to 1914, he taught at The Citadel.
