1917-1942. Citadel Class of 1940. Captain Goodpasture acted heroically to save about 20 people during a tragic fire at the Cocoanut Grove Nightclub in Boston, M.A. on November 28, 1942. Four hundred and ninety eight people, including Captain Goodpasture and his wife Mary Brennen Daly Goodpasture, were killed in the fire. A stained glass window in the north transept of Summerall Chapel is dedicated to Capt. Goodpasture. The window portrays the Christian martyr Saint Stephen.
