The Gold Star Journal is the student scholarly journal of the Corps of Cadets and the College of Graduate and Professional Studies (now known as The Citadel Graduate College). It was founded in July 1996 by Dr. Suzanne Mabrouk, Professor of Chemistry. The journal promotes academic excellence at The Citadel through the publication of cross-disciplinary, nonfiction papers. Selected works demonstrate effective writing, research skills, and critical thinking. Many academic disciplines have been represented in the journal including: Biology, Business Administration, Chemistry, Education, English, History, Honors Program, Mathematics and Computer Science, Modern Languages, Political Science, and Psychology.
