1917-1968. Citadel Class of 1938. Won letters in football and boxing while a student. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II, spending three years in the Pacific theatre, and attaining the rank of Major. Founded the Deas Brokerage Company of Charleston. Member of The Citadel Board of Visitors. Chairman of the Charleston Development Board, president of the Chamber of Commerce, and member of several boards and commissions. DEAS HALL is named for him.
