BETSY AND LIZZIE

Alternate names for the two salute guns in front of Bond Hall. Betsy was named after George Edward Haynsworth's wife (left side). Lizzie was named after Samuel Bonneau Pickens' wife (right side). Formal names of the two cannons are Haynsworth and Pickens. See also CANNONS--HAYNSWORTH AND PICKENS.
