| Prof. Barrett graduated
from The Citadel in 1968 with honors and a degree in Modern Languages (German).
He was also a Distinguished Military Graduate. He did his M.A. and Ph.D.
at the University of Massachusetts and had a Fulbright Scholarship to Germany
for dissertation research. His most recent publication is a book titled
"Albion:" The German Conquest of the Baltic Islands, 1917, forthcoming in
December, 2007, from Indiana University Press. He is currently working on
a history of the Austro-German Campaign in Romania, 1916.
He teaches Hitler and National Socialism, World War I, and Aviation and Airpower, along with Western Civilization. In 2003 he went to the University of Georgia to acquire some training in geography and offers courses in that discipline. A retired Brigadier General in the Army Reserve, Prof. Barrett is also the Faculty Advisor to the Cadet Honor Committee. |
