Augmented, mixed, and virtual reality; serious gaming; 360 degree visual mapping; training simulations; and other innovative digital media require a new type of professional: the CREATIVE WARRIOR. Join national industry leaders from the military to Hollywood to discuss how creativity and imagination are crucial skills for modern warfare.

 
Speakers include:
Col. Walt Yates, USMC: Program Manager for TRASYS (keynote speaker)
A graduate of Texas A&M and the Naval Postgraduate School, Col Yates is currently the Marine Corps’ Program Manager for Training Systems in Orlando, Florida and is responsible for training systems including constructive combat simulations and virtual training environments in support of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force.
 
Tom McGovern: EVP Digital Domain
A pioneer of 360 degree video, Tom led the launch of Google Streetview to capture 55 US cities with applications to map Iraq and Afganistan for Project Traveler and Project Tourist. His groundbreaking, award-winning work includes immersive media experiences with clients from Taylor Swift to the Olympics. In 2015 his company Immersive Media was acquired by Digital Domain, a leader in Hollywood special effects, VR, and commercials. Based in Los Angeles, Tom now lead a DD team into the world of MR (Mixed Realty) for the first responder and the defense markets.
 
Jerry Heneghan: Chief Design Officer, BioMojo
A West Point graduate, US Army aviator and AH-64 pilot, Jerry moved into serious gaming as an executive producer for the America's Army video game was a game producer at Red Storm Entertainment. Director of the UNC Center for Innovation in Pharmacy Simulation at UNC Chapel Hill, Jerry is now focused on the development of biomedical telesimulations based on serious gaming concepts including wearable biometric sensors for injury reduction in the USMC.
 
Gardner Congdon: Solutions Architect, SAIC Big Timber Games
A veteran of the games industry, Gardner established and oversees the serious games arm of SAIC. Specializing in highly engaging applications that train, educate, or simulate using game technologies, his studio has shipped over 30 serious games for Department of Defense, federal civilian, and commercial customers. Gardner is also leading the SAIC research and development effort in the use of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality for training and education.
