Leah Suarez: A Celebration of Women in Jazz

Music selections for will include dedications to female artists such as Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, Mary Lou Williams, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Elis Regina, Melba Liston, Anita O'Day, Betty Carter, Shirley Horne and more. The evening will feature a range and mix of styles, from blues to swing, bebop to bossa nova and bolero to contemporary and fusion. Leah will also debut her new composition for its world premiere, commissioned by The Citadel for this event, in honor of Women's History Month.
Leah is proud to share the stage with some of Charleston's finest musicians, accompanied by: Mark Sterbank (reeds), Richard Harris White, Jr. (piano), Tyler Ross (guitar), Jake Holwegner (bass), Ron Wiltrout (drums and percussion) and Gino Castillo (percussion).
This event is $5 general admission and free with Citadel ID.
VIP tickets are $45 which include reserved front row seating, a personalized CD, and a wine and cheese reception with Leah and the musicians after the concert.
