Application and award timetable
In order to receive financial aid, you must file the appropriate
paperwork at the appropriate time. This timetable is
designed to help you know when things are due and to follow what is
happening in the Financial Aid Office.
January
- Mail out financial aid packets, including the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) mainly to freshman
- Disburse loans to current students for spring semester
- Renewals from the federal government mailed to upperclassmen
February
- Mail out financial aid packets (including FAFSA)
March
- March 15 - priority date for FAFSA forms to be received by
the federal government for financial aid for summer semester, fall
semester, or the academic year (fall and spring)
- March 15 - date that Teacher Loan Applications should be
received by the Financial Aid Office for the April 1 deadline at the
South Carolina Loan Corporation
- Mail out financial aid packets (including FAFSA)
- Begin loan exit interviews for graduating students
- Send letters to remind students to make an appointment for a loan
exit interview
- Begin collecting applications for summer school financial aid
April
- April 15 - begin financial aid award notification and
request for missing information
- April 15 - cease processing loans for current academic
year
- Continue collecting of financial aid information for summer school
- Continue loan exit interviews
May
- Complete loan exit interviews for graduating students
prior to graduation date
- Continue information processing for summer school and upcoming
school year
June
- Disburse loans for summer school session I
- Continue information processing for summer school and upcoming
school year
July
- Disburse loans for summer school session II
- Continue information processing for fall and spring semesters
August
- Continue information processing for fall and spring semesters
September-December
- October 15 - priority date for FAFSA forms to be received
by the federal government for financial aid for Spring semester
- Disburse loans for fall semester
- Begin loan entrance interviews with new borrowers
- Students with undeclared majors must pursue admittance into a
program of study because new students must be degree-seeking to receive
financial aid for more than a year
