Cadet Scholarships

The Citadel's scholarship program is designed to attract outstanding high school graduates to the college, reward undergraduate academic excellence and assist those worthy students who desire financial assistance to finance their college education. Annually, The Citadel awards more than 3 million dollars in academic scholarships to entering freshmen and upperclassmen. More than 25 full academic scholarships covering catalog costs are awarded to entering freshmen.
  • Incoming freshman cadets are automatically considered for scholarships based on their application for admission. Thus, there is no separate scholarship application for incoming cadets.
  • Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors need to complete a separate Citadel scholarship application and return it by February 1st of each year.

Note: Some full scholarships require additional candidate involvement (i.e. writing sample, interview, application). Please see the specific scholarship listing below for complete information.

The Financial Aid Office will notify all recipients about scholarship decisions by April 30th.

The Citadel's 2007 -2008 Scholarship Program Book is a comprehensive catalog of the scholarships that are available.
This book is updated on a yearly basis.
