9.    Services to South Carolina Schools

a.
Charleston Schools. When I arrived in Charleston in 2001 I became involved with the local school district by joining the Charleston School District Strategic Planning Committee.
b.
At the request of the local chapter of Phi Delta Kappa, I chaired the Charleston School Board candidates' debate.
c.
South Carolina Deans' Meetings. Since my arrival in South Carolina, three years ago, I have attended more than 90 percent of the South Carolina Deans' monthly meetings in Columbia.
d.
South Carolina State Department of Education/NCATE training program. During my first year at The Citadel, I participated in the SDE/NCATE summer training workshop, which prepared me to serve on State/NCATE site visitations.
e.
At the request of the South Carolina Office of Teacher Quality, I served as a focus team member, conducting an on-site follow-up evaluation of the University of South Carolina-Beaufort on March 14-16, 2004.
f.
Since moving to South Carolina, I have responded positively to requests to conduct three Phi Delta workshops for South Carolina and Georgia teachers. (8-26-02; 11-1503; 1-9-04).
