Members of the ASCD Education Leaders Club, traveled to Columbia, SC on Friday, February 1, 2008, and attended the SCASCD winter conference.

Dr. Marcia Tate's presentation, Shouting Won't Grow Dendrites: 20 instructional strategies that engage the brain, explored classroom management, which can challenge new teachers as well as experienced educators.

In the presentation Dr. Tate explained techniques that will reduce learning problems and increase academic achievement. During the sessions students discussed setting rules, and celebrations, creating an environment conducive to learning, and being a proactive manager.

In attendance from the Citadel's ASCD Education Leaders club (pictured below) was Timothy Beck, Richard Hallett, Lance Kilpatrick, Danielle DiFiore, John Lellos, Justin Kidd, Rob Centola, David Morbitzer (President), and Mathew Holt (President Elect).
