Welcome to The Citadel School of Business Administration. We are proud of our institution and our mission to educate and develop leaders of principle to serve a global community. I'm sure that our faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders will attest that it is an exciting time to be part of The Citadel and our outstanding School of Business Administration! As incoming dean (effective July 1, 2007), I am pleased to report on the many initiatives that are underway.

We continue to grow and excel in the education of principled leaders. Our Mentor Association continues to thrive. To date, we have over 260 students and 150 active or retired business leaders participating in this groundbreaking and innovative program that is the envy of other business schools. This program is successful because of its dedicated volunteers from an engaged and committed regional business community, coupled with the Charleston area's growth into a highly desirable retirement community that attracts many high-level executives transitioning into retirement.

Plans are currently underway for a comprehensive undergraduate career visioning program. This new undertaking will help cadets focus on various aspects of career planning during each year of their Citadel education. With over 650 cadets choosing to major in business administration, we are a leader in preparing students for lifelong careers, both in the military and in business world.

Our Business Hall of Fame is becoming an important annual Citadel event. We have honored leaders from the private and public sectors such as Senator Fritz Hollings, Citigroup executive Sally Krawcheck, and Charleston Mayor Joe Riley. Through this program, we are able to expose our students and faculty to the outstanding leaders that we honor when we bring them to campus.

Our MBA program continues to grow and prosper. While our commitment to the undergraduate education of principled leaders is well known, we have a vibrant MBA program that is critical to the economic development of our region. The more than 250 graduate students from a wide variety of backgrounds take evening and summer classes and are exposed to outstanding leaders participating in our Leadership Forum. And we hold the distinction of offering the Charleston area's only AACSB International accredited MBA program. This prestigious accreditation also applies to our evening program designed for working adults who wish to complete their undergraduate business degree requirements at an outstanding academic institution. This program offers the flexibility normally required by non-traditional students and demonstrates the diversity of our academic offerings.

Yes, it is a truly exciting time for the School of Business Administration. We are pleased that you decided to drop in to find out more about our programs and outreach. If you are a prospective student, please let us know of your interest so that we can provide additional details. If you are the parent of a prospective or current student and would like more information on opportunities your student will have as a business major, please email or call. Likewise, if you're an alumnus or a friend of The Citadel and want additional information or wish to make a contribution to our program, please let me know. We welcome and encourage your feedback.

Sincerely,

Ronald F. Green, Ph. D.
