Mission
Education extends far beyond the walls of the classroom. In the Mentor Association, Citadel business students can enrich their business education through a relationship with a local business leader.
The Citadel School of Business Administration Mentor Association is a group of active and retired top executives from corporate America who are located in the Charleston area. They are committed to sharing their experiences with the next generation of business leaders in the undergraduate and graduate business programs. They are led by a voluntary Board of Directors.
Mentors
The list of mentors in the program is a "who's who" of corporate leadership. Current and former positions range from executive vice-president; to chief financial officer and chief operating officer; to president, vice-chairman, and chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer of a wide range of major global corporations.

Relationship
The goal of the program is to provide an enrichment experience for the students by providing access to individuals who have demonstrated that they have what it takes to be successful. The experience of sharing in an exchange of ideas with executives is of immeasurable long-term value to students. This initiative also provides an opportunity for successful executives to "give back" to the community. These mentors are encouraging students to develop career ideas and to enhance their prospects for success.
Selection
Students in the program represent the best and brightest business students at The Citadel. They are selected based on a review of credentials and an evaluation of their desire to participate through an interview or a written statement. This program is open to cadets at the start of their junior year and to graduate students upon completion of 12 hours of graduate credit.

Selected students are matched with mentor executives based on common interests or an intended career path. The relationship between the student and the mentor is then allowed to develop naturally.
