Adobe Acrobat
Adobe Acrobat Basics
In this 1.5 hour class, we will learn the function of the PDF and explore
the Acrobat 7.0 Professional interface. We will also learn how to create
PDF's from various sources, create bookmarks within the PDF, and create
links.
(Please note that seating is limited to 6 people per class.)
-Prerequisites: None

Adobe Acrobat Forms
In this 1.5 hour class, we will learn how to turn a plain PDF into a form
that can be filled out and printed. This will include learning how to
add check boxes, radio buttons, and text fields.
(Please note that seating is limited to 6 people
per class.)

Graphics and Photoshop
Intro to Graphics 101
This class teaches fundamental graphics applications for print and Web page
development. The following subjects will be discussed:
- Lab equipment
- Sources of graphics
- Graphics-related definitions and formats such as jpg, eps, tif, pdf,
gif, ppi,dpi, and lpi
- Scanning resolutions for web/screen applications and print applications
- Differences between a properly scaled image and an improper one
This is predominately a lecture. If you don't know what kind of graphic
file to use or confused about resolutions, then this class will benefit
you.

Scanning, Omnipage, Text, and PDF's (
This Graphics class has been redone - Introducing the new HP ScanJet
8350. )
This two hour class teaches hands-on scanning of graphics into applications
for print and Web page development. Learn how to scan and crop images (3D
images, Photoprints, 35mm Slides, and 35mm Negatives) and text into the
following
applications:
- MSWord, Adobe PhotoShop, and Adobe Acrobat
You will learn how to scan for OCR text or Text and Images. You'll aslo
learn the correct way to take care of your scanner. and the proper way
to save your files.
-Prerequisite: None (Graphics 101 will be helpful)

Introduction to Photoshop ( Limited
Seating! )
This class is an introduction to Adobe Photoshop CS2. Participants will
learn the basics of the tool bar and how to use some of these tools. Editing
with the Clone Tool, outlining with the Pen Tool, usage of the Paint Bucket
and other basic tools will be covered to get a good start into a very
complex but fun application. We will also perform a color shift to an
image.Class prerequisites require that each participant have taken Graphics
201, be proficient at using a computer, have an understanding of basic
graphics and the formats available; .jpg, .gif, .tif, .eps and .bmp, as
well as understand the difference between print and Web graphics. Seating
will be limited!
-Prerequisite: Graphics 201

Photoshop II: Creative Effects (
Limited Seating! )
This hands-on lab will explore indepth outlining with the Pen Tool, creating
and utilizing layers, applying drop shadow filters, Free transforming image
shapes, using the Lighting Effects filter and employing the tools previously
learned in Intro to Photoshop. Seating will be limited!
-Prerequisite: Introduction to Photoshop
-Duration: 2 hours
Photoshop III: Advanced Application ( Limited
Seating! )
This intense hands-on lab will be a more in depth study of creating graphics
in Photoshop.We will continue using the Pen Tool and Layers learned in
Photoshop II. The text tool will also be introduced as well as basic color
corrections. creating masks, special color plates, working with special
lighting tools, and how to make an image visually stand out. It will be
fun and challenging!
-Prerequisite: Photoshop II
-Duration: 2 hours
Photoshop IV: Restoring Old Photos ( Limited
Seating! )
Editing, creating masks, working in layers, using the pen tool, color correction,
and general image enhancement. A very intense workshop only for those who
feel fairly comfortable with the Photoshop tools.
-Prerequisite: Photoshop III
-Duration: 2 hours
Photoshop V: Rebuilding an Old Photo
Editing, creating patches, working in layers, creating a sepiatone, and a halo
image. It will be intense, fun, and challenging!
-Prerequisite: Photoshop IV
-Duration: 2 hours
Imageready:Animation
This hands-on lab will cover much of the basics in using Adobe Imageready. We
will discuss how to use the Floating Toolbar and the Control Palette, create
an animated .gif file, create rollovers, and slice web background images. You
will need to know the tools of Photoshop before taking this class. We will
not be going over basic Photoshop functions.

Flash
Flash: Basics
This hands-on lab will cover much of the basics in using Macromedia FLASH
MX. We will discuss how to use the essential tools in FLASH. We will
create
some simple graphics and learn how to perform a simple animation. These
will be good building blocks for learning this software tool.
-Prerequisite: Graphics 101
-Duration: 2 hours
Customizing an existing Flash Animation (Part
1 and Part 2)
This hands-on lab is broken down into two parts. The first part will cover how
to change images and text with a particular existing Flash file without even
using the Flash application. Basic knowledge of how to size images is necessary.
The
second
part
of
the
class
will cover how to alter the pixel dimensions of the Flash file in the Flash application
for placement in the html page. (Note: You must take the first part in order
to take the second part of this class. You need not have to take the second part
if you have no knowledge of the Flash application.)

Freehand
Freehand 8.0 Basics
This hands-on lab will cover much of the basics in using Macromedia Freehand
8.0. We will discuss how to use the essential tools in Freehand. We will
create some simple graphics and learn how to mix colors and tints. We
will be using the Pen Tool and learn how to make a .eps file.
-Prerequisite: Graphics 101

InDesign
Intro to InDesign
This hands-on lab will cover much of the basics in using Adobe InDesign
CS2 which is the replacement for PageMaker 7.0. We will discuss how
to use
the new Floating Toolbar and the Control Palette, and we will examine
and use the tools commonly used. We will also build a 2 column page
with
text and some graphic images. If you are familiar with PageMaker, Quark
Xpress, Illustrator, or PhotoShop then you will see the similarities
that
is incorporated in InDesign.

PowerPoint
PowerPoint for the Multimedia Presenter
This 1.5 hour class is a beginner level class designed to help a
presenter feel more comfortable using Microsoft PowerPoint. We will
investigate the PowerPoint interface and discuss how to organize your
creation process, so that your time is used more efficiently. We
will also go over some PowerPoint do's and don'ts.
-Prerequisites: None

Animating Your PowerPoint Presentation
This 1 hour class is designed to help you jazz up your
presentation by exploring how to animate the content of your slides, as
well as the transitions between the slides.

PowerPoint's Drawing Tools
In this 1 hour class, we will explore many of the drawing
tools that PowerPoint offers to help you illustrate your content. Topics
covered will include basic shape tools, autoshape tools, WordArt, and stacking
your objects.
-Prerequisites: PowerPoint for the Multimedia Presenter

Customizing your PowerPoint Presentation
This 1 hour class is designed to help you create your
own customized presentation by using PowerPoint's slide design templates.
We will personalize the template by changing the color scheme and by editing
the presentation's slide and title masters.

Using Images in your PPT Presentations
This 1.5 hour class, we will learn about adding images to your presentation
to help illustrate your content. We will take a look at inserting clipart
and photos, as well as moving the images on the slide, resizing the images
to fit the slide, and other types of general editing.
