WHO CAN I TALK TO???
· A member of your Human Affairs Team or Chain of Command.
Your Human Affairs Teams exist to help you adjust and succeed as a cadet at
The Citadel. Since they are cadets also, they will certainly understand certain
aspects of things that may be giving you problems. All members of the Human
Affairs Teams have received special classes to enable them to help you or to
know who to refer you to for help.

assisted in her responsibilities by Assistant Sexual Response Coordinators (ASARC):

Ms. Mary Ellen Huddleston, Director of Intramural Programs, 953-7955. Ms Kelly
Simpson, Asst. Athletic Director/Senior Women's Administrator, 953-6604. Ms
Bridgette Beasley, Deputy Director, Human Resource, 953-6989. The SARC and ASARCs
act as confidential liasions for The Citadel Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention
Policy. They are able to provide guidance and support to students, faculty and
staff concerning the protocol for sexual assault complaints.

The ombuds office provides a confidential advisor for cadets, faculty and staff members. Information discussed with the ombudsperson is confidential and can be handled informally - at your discretion. LtCol Carter will be happy to talk about any subject that may be troubling you.

The Chaplain to the Corps of Cadets insures that the college provides all cadets with their right for freedom of worship, helps the college develop an environment of mutual respect for all religious beliefs, and provides counseling for any cadet wishing to talk about personal or spiritual concerns. The chaplain also coordinates a broad spectrum of religious activities that provide cadets with the opportunity to develop a dynamic, God-centered, spiritual life.

The Counseling Center staff offers confidential individual counseling to students experiencing personal difficulties. These difficulties often include issues such as stress/anxiety, sadness/depression, frustration/anger, relationship/family concerns, alcohol-related problems, difficulties coping in a military environment, and many other personal difficulties.
· Multicultural Student Services

The Office of Multicultural Student Services promotes an appreciation for diversity among students, faculty, and staff. Students in need of academic assistance, students experiencing difficulties with the fourth-class system, or students dealing with racial, ethnic, religious, or gender-related issues should contact Captain Pickering.

The Assistant Commandant is the focal point within the Commandant's Department
to assist in developing coeducational policies and resolving any gender-related
issues. This covers a myriad of areas such as sexual harassment complaints,
concern over gender equity issues, sexual assaults, and personal appearance
standards among others. Note that the position provides assistance for both
male and female cadets--coeducation is not solely a female issue!

Ms. Beasley is the point of contact for equal educational opportunity, which
includes, but is not limited to, disparate treatment because of race, ethnicity,
color, religion, handicap, or gender for all of your college life. She will
also help to run interference, and/or act upon any real or threatened discrimination
or retaliation for reporting such. She works with all Citadel offices to seek
remedies that are not adverse to anyone and believes she should give the benefit
of doubt to the cadet.
· President's Support Office

The President's Support Office provides the oversight functions for the President.
You can go to this office for assistance with problems that just cannot seem
to be resolved using normal operating guidelines and channels. Before bringing
a matter to her, you should have already attempted to get the matter resolved
with your Chain of Command.
