Goals

After completing this course students will learn the fundemental principles of chemistry; develop mathematical skills used in applying chemical principles; gain an appreciation of how chemistry affects everyday life; expand their working vocabulary to include chemical terms; and develop an understanding of the interrelationship between chemistry, other sciences, engineering, and society.

Skills Acquired

In meeting the goals of this course the student will gain further insight into the chemistry of solutions, chemical equilibria and kinetics, acid-base theory, electrochemistry, nuclear processes, and basic principles of organic chemistry.
