Colonel Samuel Adam Wideman and Jane Allan Wideman Scholarship Application Form

This scholarship is for incoming or current chemistry majors. In order to be considered for this scholarship a completed application form must be on file. The amount of the scholarship will be $4000.00 for both the fall and spring semesters during the freshman year. It will be $2000.00 for both the fall and spring semesters during the sophomore, junior and senior years. The total amount of this award over the four years is $20,000. To retain the scholarship,the successful student students must have either a 3.000 overall GPR or a 2.800 GPR in their chemistry classes. Should a student fail to meet the GPR requirements, all eligible students in that class will be considered. Any students who haven't submitted an application form will have to do so to be considered.

Professor Sam Wideman, Class of 1929, and his wife Jane were highly respected members of The Citadel Community. Professor Wideman was distinguished for his scholarship in chemistry and high academic standards; and, his wife Jane was beloved by cadets and faculty.
