*Refer to the Information Center for USA Jobs at the link above to access tips on writing a Federal Resume. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) organized a resume format for federal job application that covers all essential data and may be created using the USAJobs Resume Builder. The format is similar to most other resumes, but also includes specific information that is not usually included within a resume for the private sector, such as country of citizenship. If you are searching for a federal job while also conducting a private sector search, it is a good idea to have a federal resume and a standard resume ready; submit the appropriate version for your application.

**The margins used on the following samples vary in order to allow all to be saved within the same document. Margins of .7 top/bottom/left/right are recommended for most one-page resumes, but some may be adjusted to as low as .5. Be sure that your resume does not look too crammed or out of balance.

The above resume samples are from prior Cadets and CGC students. Most samples are for the senior year. Use the senior year resume as a starting point. Underclassmen may view it in terms of what your resume will eventually look like. Graduate students may view it as a guide. It is okay for underclassmen to include experience, leadership, activities, and honors from high school. However, you do not need to list your high school under the education section. It is understood that you have completed a high school education by listing that you are pursuing a college degree. (One exception would be if you are applying for a position in the school district you attended).
