Required Text: Hole's Human Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory Manual (Martin)

Objectives:

This laboratory is designed to complement and enhance the lecture portion of the Human Anatomy and Physiology course. The more you use and apply your new-found knowledge of anatomy and physiology, the easier it will be for you to remember it. Use this opportunity to try out some of the principles you've learned in lecture and ask for clarification of topics that are confusing to you. This is also a good place to form study groups for lab and lecture.

Important Considerations:

1. Attendance in laboratory is required. Makeup laboratories and quizzes will only be scheduled in the event of an authorized absence (as defined in the College Catalog) and only if the instructor is notified prior to the absence. Laboratories held on Monday should be made up by Friday of that same week. Absences, whether authorized or unauthorized, in excess of 20% will result in a grade of "F".
2. Students are responsible for the collection and recording of data in each of the experiments. Make sure that no data or handouts are lost, as the information may be necessary on quizzes and laboratory reports.
3. Although you will be working in groups during the laboratory exercises, it is expected that laboratory reports will be worked on individually and independently. Collaboration on laboratory reports is not acceptable.
4. Laboratory reports will be due at the beginning of the following laboratory session. Late reports will be penalized the equivalent of half a letter grade (5%) per calendar day.
5. This is a laboratory where potentially hazardous materials are handled. Please be aware of any precautions given, and follow the instructions given at the beginning of each laboratory.
6. If you have any questions concerning laboratory procedures, please do not hesitate to ask the instructor.

Grading:

Quizzes (8) 10 pts. each 80 total
Laboratory Reports (10) 10 pts. each 100 total
Exams (3) 50 pts. each 150 total
Participation 50 pts. 50 total
    380 possible points

Grading Scale: A = 90-100%, B = 80-89%, C = 70-79%, D = 60-69%, F = < 59%
