Bridging disciplines, I bring techniques of larval biology, field ecology, population genetics and molecular systematics to bear on studies of marine invertebrates. I am presently studying the evolution and ecology of barnacles commensal with marine hosts. A number of barnacle species live attached exclusively to particular marine animals such as sea turtles and whales. Through examining population genetic differences and exploring larval life-histories, I aim to understand the evolution of these crustaceans and what they can tell us about the biology of their hosts.
