Thinking about your future after you graduate from high school can be stressful and intimidating if you do not have a game plan! One of the country's great
schools, The Citadel, offers you the opportunity to pursue your education in a structured military environment without a military commitment.
Did you know the Army ROTC Detachment, "The Palmetto Battalion":
1) Is one of the largest ROTC battalions in the country.
2) Commissions between 50-65 cadets yearly.
3) Is designated a "Senior Military College" and enjoys appropriate privileges.
4) Offers the opportunity to commission as an Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserve officer.
5) Offers 4 year and 3 year National Scholarships and 3 and 2 year Campus Based Scholarships.
6) Enables cadets to participate in the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) with the National Guards or Reserves.

Army ROTC provides you valuable leadership and management skills applicable to the military and the civilian workforce.
Learn the 8 Troop Leading Procedures, the Operations Order, and After Action Review. Incorporate them into formulating a battle plan or marketing research
paper. Time tested leadership and management tools utilized by general officers to chief executive officers of major corporations!

Leadership Training :
Ranger Challenge Team-Best in the 5th Brigade seven years running and nationally recognized!
Cordell Airborne Ranger Company - Hands on squad and platoon tactical training to include air assault operations.
Airborne and Air Assault Schools - Real Army training at Fort Benning and Fort Campbell that is as tough as it gets. Earn your Airborne and Air Assault
wings while in college.
Cadet Troop Leadership Training - Spend three to four weeks in an active duty Army unit in the United States or overseas. Learn what your future as
a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army will be like.
Simultaneous Membership Program - Serve in the National Guard or Reserves while simultaneously serving as a cadet. The Army is the only service
ROTC at The Citadel that offers such a valuable leadership program.

Scholarship opportunities for those students who came to The Citadel without a scholarship. Apply for this as a Freshman or Sophomore.
The Professor of Military Science chooses / recommends best qualified applicants for the scholarships.
