Community Outreach Initiative

The Citadel African American Studies Community Outreach Initiative will serve as a channel for student, faculty, and staff involvement with the community and surrounding area. Outreach Initiatives will include: community meetings, conferences, workshops, fund raising, and a Speakers Bureau. These efforts will promote dialogue between The Citadel and the community as well as enhance The Citadel's visibility in the surrounding area.

What we will do:

RESPOND to the academic needs of the community; improve our commitment and sense of social responsibility in society.

INTEGRATE outreach activities into the academic programs of The Citadel.

COORDINATE with existing community development efforts.

BUILD and sustain relationships between The Citadel and the community while enhancing our institutional self-image.
